Video of The Week: Cayetana “Hot Dad Calendar”

January 22, 2014

Hey Folks,

Hope Wednesday is treating you all quite nicely. We here at All The Day Sounds would like to thank all of you who checked out yesterday’s post on The Governor’s Ball Music Fest, you made it our second most popular day ever! If you missed out on that post, just check out the ol’ side bar or scroll down. Thanks for the support good people, keep coming back and spread the word!

Now It’s time for (MAJESTIC HORN FANFARE) the Music Video of the week!

This week we’re heading to Philly to check out punk trio Cayetana. These ladies are fairly new to the scene and I think they’re doing CRAZY off the hook things. Loose vocals with tons of personality and KILLER song writing. I can’t say how much I love this particular song “Hot Dad Calendar” it just kills. The way the track meanders around yet loses none of it’s pop hookiness and over all punch. Don’t get me started on the LYRICS. “Kid you’ll be ok/you get better with age.” Cayetana has crafted a song which is such an ANTHEM, yet it’s not hokey and doesn’t suck. I’m sold.

If you want to check out this trio of righteous punks, you are in LUCK cause they are currently on tour with the fantabulous Waxahatchee and All Dogs! They’re playing Philly this weekend and I am so there. What a line up folks what a line up.

The girls have a demo which can currently be scored off their band camp:

The demo can also be apparently scored off of Tiny Engines on Cassette Tape…I’m chomping at the bit on this one folks.
They also have “Hot Dad Calendar” coming out on 7” in a variety of colors. Share in that wonderfulness here:

and FINALLY (sorry to bombard you)

follow the comings and going of Cayetana on fb:

Hope you enjoy the song and the vid folks! Cayetana is just further proof that the Philly Punk scene is just killing right now. It’s a glorious time for music. Thanks for dropping by you cool cats. Remember to stop by later in the week for Top Five Fridays!

well peace out good people of the world,

Peter Winter
